I previously explained my inspiration for my glorious play, The Rover, but I realized that I have yet to explain what made it so glorious. It was a story of two sisters, Florinda and Hellena, who were in very bad predicaments in terms of both of their love lives. Florinda, being the older sister, was arranged to marry her brother's wealthy best friend, Antonio. It is customary for the oldest sister to marry a prosperous man to maintain some wealth in the family, while the youngest sister is sent to a convent. The problem with Florinda's plan for the future is that she is in love with another man named Belville, not Antonio. Hellena's conflict is that she wants to fall in love and live a long and full life, without joining a convent. Florinda and Hellena struggle to pursue the lifestyles of their choice but in the end, they both succeed.
